Matthew Van Fleet, founder of Van Fleet Law, graduated law school from Santa Clara University and is an undergraduate of University of California, Santa Barbara.  Mr. Van Fleet was a Dean's List student and Development Editor for the internationally recognized Computer and High Tech Law Journal.

Mr. Van Fleet started his law practice in 2005 and specializes in Business, Real Estate and Oil and Gas Law.  Mr. Van Fleet also is the managing member of an oil and gas company owning oil and gas interests in 1/3 of all of the counties of Oklahoma. 

Matthew Van Fleet is a member of the State Bar of California and the Orange County Bar Association, Real Estate and Business sections.  Mr. Van Fleet completed the Orange County Bar Association Trial College and attends Orange County Bar Association functions frequently.

Further, Van Fleet Law is experienced with post-trial matters including post-trial motions and memorandum, post-trial discovery, collections and creditor's representation in bankruptcy. 

Results

• $525,000 judgment after trial.  Real estate litigation involving real estate fraud and working closely with the Los Angeles District Attorney Real Estate Fraud unit. Legal understanding of real estate transactions including escrow, broker, agent, and title company duties.
• Successfully defended lender involving borrower’s claim of usurious interest with the consolidation of multiple deeds of trust.  Client paid $0.   
• Successfully represented real estate broker sued under indemnification cross-complaint. Potential liability in excess of $300,000.00. Global settlement entered. Client paid $0. 
• Commercial fraud litigation involving a forged mobile home title.  Working with the California Department of Housing and Community as well as the Westminster, California Detective’s office.  Obtained $1,230,000 default judgment in favor of client.
• Representation of junior lien-holder in Bankruptcy.  Debtor declared Chapter 7, staying foreclosure proceedings.  Prepared and filed motion for relief from Bankruptcy stay.  Motion granted and foreclosure commenced and completed. 
• Representation of a secured lender in case involving stolen identity against borrower and broker. Borrower treated property as his own after lender acquired it.  Settlement on the “eve” of trial.  $35,000 in favor of client.
